International Society of Feline Medicine

The International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM) was founded in 1996 (as the European Society of Feline Medicine) by International Cat Care (iCatCare) to provide a focus for veterinary surgeons with an interest and enthusiasm for feline medicine. It became 'International' in 2010.

ISFM aims to provide a forum for the dissemination of information and current developments through its Journal of Feline Medicine and Surgery (JFMS).  Classic and clinical practice issues of the Journal are published on alternate months.

  • To promote continuing education in the field of feline medicine
  • To raise awareness of feline medicine to the practitioner
  • To publish a specialist journal
  • To forge links with humane societies and exchange information
  • To develop further qualifications in the subject of feline medicine

Principal activities

  • Production of Journal of Feline Medicine and Surgery in association with Elsevier and the American Association of Feline Practitioners
  • Organisation of continuing education days/conferences for veterinary surgeons
